Elia Abu Madi (1890–1957)
- Born in Mount Lebanon in 1890 and died in New York in 1957, he was a leading poet of the Mahjar, the Arab literary movement of the Americas, and a member of the Pen League in New York.

About this concert
Elia Abu Madi (died 1957), the Lebanese-American poet of the Mahjar, wrote “The Philosophy of Life”, one of the most quoted poems in Arabic. The choir performed settings of his verse composed by Nayer Nagui.
