About this concert

Pharos, named after the lighthouse of ancient Alexandria, is a German-Egyptian project that joins European choral music with the heritage of ancient Egypt. Its first two concerts, with the German ensembles Havelkonsort and Canzoneo, gave the première of Bernhard Barth’s Pharos alongside Bach, Brahms and Egyptian choral music, with live calligraphy by Shahid Alam, in Potsdam and Werder (Havel).
